Flight or Fight Response a Dying Reaction

Copyright (c) 2010 James Holan

I think the human race has lost there fight or flight response. I think it has become something of a joke. Now we just stand there with our mouths hanging open and think to ourselves…”Hmmm. There mad…weird.” That is the reason so many people get shot.

When someone comes up to your car and points a gun at your head you don’t just sit there and say “hmmm…shinny.” You floor the fucking accelerator and get the hell out of there. What happened to survival instincts?

Remember Darwin, Survival of the Fittest? When he wrote that he had no idea that the human race was already being designed to die. Look at us, how do we live for more than a second? Come on, I mean think about it:

When we are born we are programmed for death. All other animals are walking and running and learning to be quite when mama’s moving. We squirm and yell and fuss and we can die by moving, sometimes by not moving. All we know how to do is eat, poop, and sleep and sometimes we have trouble with that. We can’t hold onto our mothers, we can’t even move under our own power. Most baby animals are walking within like five minutes of birth, humans, try nine or ten months.

We are programmed to die. I mean when God was creating how humans deal with the first year of our life he was laughing. I mean he knew about the Survival of the Fittest and he knew we were not equipped to survive. So how do we become the master race? We reproduce fast? We mature fast? No way if that was true bunnies would rule the world.

I think it is because we did something that no other race ever thought of. We put flames on sticks. That is where its at and when you put a flame on a stick apparently you become intelligent. Man the human race should be dead. There is no doubt about it in my mind. We harnessed fire and therefore we lived.

Now here is some food for thought. What would have happened if the bunnies got the flame on the stick first? I mean, sure, there fur probably would have caught on fire but after that part I bet they would have been burning our ankles and then eventually they would have found rope and tired us to stacks and burned us completely.

Fire is intelligence, although some recent videos with fire in them do not seem to really make me totally believe that. I recently viewed a bunch of kids playing with matches and then trying to light one of the buddies on fire (it is on youtube). Ironically, the boy suffered from third degree burns and nearly died.

Why this didn’t happen in the stupid ages…well it probably did and we just don’t have written record. If there is a cave painting of someone on fire though, I want to know.

Anyway, we are programmed to die. We have no stun reflex. I mean we are worst then deer. Take a moment to think about the deer in the headlights principal. A deer sees a car, gets so scared that it can’t move, and then dies by the thing with the bright headlights smashing into its face. Are we much better. Lets look at out youth.

Ages two till well, adulthood and old age. Here is the deal, when people cross they street they look both ways, correct? Not always, my friends, survival of the fittest, my friends. If we always looked both ways we wouldn’t need school zones. I mean have you ever driven through a school zone? I can understand the little kids because are children are programmed to die, they have no sense of danger unlike all the African animals that are running from lions from the moment that they are born, not there fault that there was some faulty programming. Anyway, when I drive through a high school school zone. I go Twenty I stare at the “kids” and I slam on my breaks when one of those teenagers decides that they can beat the car and run in front of it.

A couple of years ago a boy was actually killed, a seventeen year old boy. The explanation, the driver was not looking, my explanation: THE BOY SHOULD NOT HAVE JAY WALKED! Sorry he died but he didn’t use his head. The argument: Humans don’t develop the frontal lobe in their brains until nearly twenty-five. The frontal lobe is the region of your brain that apparently makes you think cars are bigger than you and dangerous. Actually it is responsible for the consequence effect, meaning you understand that there are consequences for your actions. With this in mind I can say one thing, we are programmed to die.
